Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the correct form/document and any accompanying documentation for your intended purpose. You are also responsible for ensuring that your document/form is fully and accurately completed. If you have a question about your form/document and its requirements, we strongly recommend that you contact the receiving agency or organization.

Our responsibilities

Downtown Notary limits its services to swearing oaths and affidavits and verifying that signatures, marks and copies of documents are true or genuine. We do not provide any legal advice. In providing notary public services to you, that does not, and is not intended to, establish a solicitor-client relationship. Downtown Notary does not accept any liability for your choice of form/document or your completion of your form/document.

Pricing policy

$36.99 for the first notarization (stamp and signature) and $21.99 for each additional notarization. Price is per notarization, not per document. Exhibits to affidavits are considered separate documents.

Lateness, cancellation and no-show policy

We understand that things happen and plans need to change. If you are running late or need to cancel, contact us at 647-799-3531 as soon as possible.

We will do our best to accommodate, but we can’t guarantee that we will be able to keep your appointment if you are more than 10 minutes late.

Our late fees are: 15 minutes late - $7.99; 30 minutes late - $22.99; 45 minutes late - $36.99; 1 hour late - $55.99.

If you cancel with less than two hours’ notice and do not rebook, or you do not show up to your appointment, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $36.99 plus HST.
